Ginger Beef Corporation, a publicly traded company on the TSX Venture Exchange headquartered in Calgary, Alberta since 1992 oversees two subsidiaries: Ginger Beef Choice Ltd. (food manufacturing) and Ginger Beef Express Ltd. (restaurant franchising). Ginger Beef Express Ltd. operates franchised Chinese food full service restaurants, take out and delivery outlets, and food court kiosks across Alberta. Ginger Beef Choice Ltd. is engaged in the business of marketing, manufacturing, and distributing an extensive line of federally inspected frozen and ready to eat Chinese food products for the growing home meal replacement, frozen food, and food service sectors. With over 50 items in its family of products, the company distributes its products to national grocery store chains, membership food warehouses, convenience stores, and food service distributors. As an innovative market leader in the home meal replacement market, the company has helped develop a complete Chinese meal solution for the deli departments of the aforementioned retail food outlets. Plans to launch additional ethnic meal programs such as Japanese, Thai, and East Indian foods are expected in the Fall of 2005.

With a production facility of approximately 20,000 square feet equipped with state of the art machinery, the company is set up to handle large retail and food service production volumes. Current retail clients include Costco Wholesale, Sobeys (Garden Market IGA), Westfair Foods (Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, and Extra Foods), Loblaws (Zehrs, Valumart, Your Independent Grocer), Canada Safeway, Overwaitea Food Group, H.Y. Louie Company (Marketplace IGA), Mac’s Convenience Stores, Federated Co-op, Sunspun Food Service, Sysco Food Service, BridgeBrand Food Service, T & T Supermarket, and more. The Retail Chinese Food Market
With today’s busy lifestyle where consumers are pressed for time especially to cook, home meal replacement entrees have taken off. Ginger Beef Corporation has identified a need for a federally inspected Chinese food solution as the current marketplace offers very few alternatives. All national grocery store chains have a mandate to deal with only federally inspected suppliers to streamline their buying, distribution, and food safety concerns.
